The
Metropolitan Association of Home Inspectors (MAHI) is the New York Chapter of
the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI).
NAHI is one of the largest home inspection associations in the United States and
MAHI has grown to be one of the largest home inspection associations in the
state of New York. MAHI inspectors are expected to
complete NAHI approved training, maintain continuing education credits by means
of monthly meeting educational discussions, attend a yearly seminar hosted
by the local chapter or other NAHI approved courses. They must also abide by the NAHI
Standards of Practice and
the
Code of Ethics during each inspection

Our GoalThe goal of the Metropolitan Association of Home Inspectors Inc., MAHI, is to provide informative educational seminars in addition to the guidance and support needed to be successful in the Building Inspection Industry. We have worked diligently to pass legislation licensing Home Inspectors and afford to them the recognition they deserve as professionals. This year the New York Senate and Assembly have finally passed legislation to license Home Inspectors. As of January 1, 2006 any home
inspection completed in New York State must be accomplished by a licensed
inspector.
